Congratulations Messages
Need to say a heartfelt well done but struggling for the words? Don’t panic, it happens to the best of us. This blog post should help. Ideal for solving card message conundrums, it should help inspire you to write a message as lovely as the flowers.
How we come up with these messages
With over 100 years of delivering gorgeous flowers under the Interflora team’s belt, we’ve seen millions of card messages over the years. We know what a cracking one looks like, and we’re well practiced at helping people translate their complicated emotions (and weird and wonderful situations) into blooms and words.
All that knowledge goes into our message guides (we’ve got ones for saying thank you, good luck, plus loads of others) via expert writers on the team, who craft each message, so it strikes just the right note or sparks some inspiration.
General advice on writing card messages
The first thing to remember is don’t over think it, because chances are the person reading it won’t be. They’re not judging it for a literary prize or giving it a grade. They just want to know who the flowers are from, why they’ve been sent, and how that person’s feeling. You don’t need to compose a sonnet so keep it simple.
The second thing we often remind people is to be honest. Don’t be afraid to really share your emotions – you’ve gone through the effort of sending gorgeous blooms, now’s your chance to explain why. As long as the message feels genuine, they’re not going to worry about whether you got the comma in the right place.
And one final thing to remember: there’s no sin in keeping it short. Some of the funniest, or most heartfelt messages are short and sweet. One of our favourites for instance is writer E.B. White turning down an invitation with ‘I must decline for secret reasons’ (see the letter)
